Job summary

WhiteCrow Research is seeking a Production Manager in Malaysia (Penang) to lead daily production operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost targets are met. You will drive Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen initiatives, develop production plans and allocate resources to meet demand.

You will ensure compliance with EHS policies and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Maintenance to resolve issues and support operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or a related field.
• 8–10 years manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong background in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and EHS compliance.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing (cable/electronics preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily production operations to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen.
• Develop and implement production plans, schedules and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements and EHS policies.
• Foster teamwork, accountability and high performance across production teams.
• Monitor production KPIs (efficiency, scrap, downtime, OEE) and take corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Maintenance to enable operations.
• Coach production supervisors, line leaders and technicians to build leadership.
• Support new product introductions and transfer projects with minimal disruption.
• Manage budgets, manpower planning and cost optimization initiatives.

As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for...

• Leading and managing daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are being achieved.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen activities.
• Developing and implementing production plans, schedules, and resource allocation to meet customer demand.
• Ensuring compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies.
• Fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high performance across production teams.
• Monitoring production KPIs, including efficiency, scrap, downtime, and OEE, and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance, to resolve issues and support operational excellence.
• Leading, coaching, and developing production supervisors, line leaders, and technicians to build strong leadership capabilities.
• Supporting new product introductions (NPI) and transfer projects with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
• Managing production budgets, manpower planning, and cost optimization initiatives.

What you already have...

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership/managerial role.
• Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and EHS compliance.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing (preferably cable, electronics, or related industries).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in English; Mandarin is an added advantage.
