Alumac Industries in Malaysia seeks a seasoned Head of Manufacturing to lead all production operations, ensure safety and quality, drive planning, manpower allocation, and process improvements. You will coordinate with sales, engineering and customers for technical guidance and QA.
You will supervise production supervisors and operators, optimise machine and labour utilisation, support product development, and ensure ISO and customer specifications are met.
To lead and manage all manufacturing operations, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Responsible for production planning, manpower allocation, process improvements, product development support, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Acts as the primary liaison between production, sales, engineering, and customers for technical advice and quality assurance.
Key responsibilitiesManage daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
Coordinate with planning to schedule and adjust production as required.
Monitor and optimize machine and manpower utilization.
Ensure finished product formula, processes, and quality meet customer and market specifications.
Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing on product-related issues.
Collaborate with draughtsman and engineers to conceptualize new or modified products.
Investigate and resolve product complaints, implementing corrective actions.
Drive process enhancements to improve product quality, reduce waste, and optimize cost.
Supervise, train, and evaluate production supervisors and operators.
Ensure all staff follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment across the department.
About youBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
At least 7-10 years working experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably aluminium extrusion.
Strong knowledge of production process control, monitoring and optimization.
Good knowledge of production planning, productivity, yield and scrap control.
Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and continuous improvement techniques.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and dimensional tolerances.
Knowledge of quality control methods and ISO requirements.
Good leadership, communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
