Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations on the production floor, drive efficiency, and ensure production targets are met. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in production/manufacturing, with at least 3 years in management.
• Proven track record leading production teams and improving processes.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proficient in production planning, scheduling, and workflow management.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and operational efficiency.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• Strong computer skills in Excel, ERP, and production management software.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations on the production floor, ensuring efficiency and alignment with production targets.
• Monitor and support the implementation of production schedules, optimizing resource allocation and inventory levels.
• Maintain 5S practices, promote safety, and reduce waste with the General Manager and 5S team.
• Participate in audits and inspections to ensure adherence to 5S standards and drive corrective actions.
• Support compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations in collaboration with Safety personnel.
• Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce waste; track KPIs.
• Collaborate with production staff to ensure accurate data collection (BOM, stock on-hand) for decision-making.
• Assist in planning and executing capital projects with engineering to meet production needs.

Assist in overseeing day-to-day operations on the production floor, ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient and align with production targets.

Monitor and support the implementation of production schedules, helping to ensure that resources are allocated effectively, and inventory levels are managed appropriately.

Assist in maintaining workplace organization and 5S practices, supporting the General Manager in promoting safety, reducing waste, and enhancing productivity.

Participate in regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to 5S standards, providing feedback and supporting corrective actions where needed.

2. Compliance and Safety:

Assist the General Manager in ensuring that production activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Work with the Safety Coordinator and/or Safety Officer to support the preparation of required documentation and reports for regulatory authorities.

Help monitor compliance with statutory requirements on the production floor, contributing to maintaining a safe and legally compliant working environment.

3. Operational Efficiency:

Support the identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.

Assist in the tracking and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs), providing data to help drive continuous improvement in production operations.

Collaborate with production staff to ensure that accurate data (e.g., Bill of Materials, stock on-hand) is collected and used effectively in decision-making.

Assist the General Manager and engineering team in the planning and execution of capital projects, ensuring they are aligned with production needs and completed as scheduled.

Provide support for engineering initiatives aimed at improving equipment, processes, and overall production efficiency.

5. Quality Assurance Assistance:

Work closely with the Quality team to help ensure products meet required quality standards.

Support the implementation of quality control processes on the production floor, helping to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

Assist in addressing quality issues, working with the QC and engineering teams to identify problems and implement corrective measures.

Promote a quality-focused mindset among production staff, helping them understand their role in maintaining high product standards.

6. Maintenance Coordination:

Assist in coordinating with the Maintenance team to ensure optimal performance of production equipment.

Support preventive maintenance efforts by helping to implement schedules that minimize downtime and support continuous production operations.

Help identify and address equipment issues in collaboration with the Maintenance team, contributing to efficient resource use and cost management.

7. Team Leadership and Support:

Provide leadership and support to production teams, fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment.

Assist in mentoring and developing production staff, offering guidance and feedback to help them achieve their professional goals.

Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment by reinforcing safety protocols and best practices.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications in production management or operations are an advantage.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the plastic injection moulding industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Proven track record of leading production teams, improving processes, and achieving production targets.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.

Proficient in production planning, scheduling, and workflow management to meet production deadlines.

In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and operational efficiency.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure.

Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and production management software.

Able to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
