Job summary

Metal Work Pneumatic (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Product Specialist / Technical Support Engineer to be based in Klang, Selangor. You will develop strong relationships with customers, provide technical support, and work with the sales team to grow market share.

You will lead pre-sales activities, deliver training sessions, and tailor pneumatic and automation solutions for industrial applications, including accessories and FRLs, while traveling across Malaysia to support customers.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics.
• Fresh graduates with strong potential encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of air cylinders/actuators, valves, fittings, and FRLs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish, develop and support new customers and businesses (OEMs, resellers, end users).
• Hunt for tenders, cold call industrial accounts, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Update Voice of Customers and market trends to management.
• Analyse workflows to recommend product configurations or tailored solutions.
• Assist customers in selecting suitable products and solutions for their applications.
• Work up pneumatic diagrams and electro-pneumatic circuits with customers.
• Deliver training sessions, product demonstrations, and technical presentations.
• Lead pre-sales activities and propose standard or customized pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical solutions.
• Contribute to new product and solution development across pneumatics, electrical, and process industries.
• Manage and report customer product complaints with timely solutions.

Product Specialist / Technical Support Engineer

The role will be based in Klang, Selangor. To develop a strong relationship with customers with strong technical support and work closely with the sales team to grow the company's business and market share in assigned territory. Provide comprehensive technical support, solution proposals, and consultancy services to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, develop and support new customers and businesses (especially OEM, reseller, dealer, end user, etc.)
• Hunt for new project tenders, cold call prospective industrial accounts, and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders
• Update Voice of Customers and market trends to management
• Analyse customer workflows, systems, or scientific requirements to recommend the exact product configuration or tailored technical solution
• Assist customers in selecting the most suitable products and solutions for their applications
• Work up pneumatic diagrams and electro-pneumatic circuits, including customized solutions of pneumatic systems in collaboration with customers
• Deliver training sessions, product demonstrations, and technical presentations both internally and externally
• Lead pre-sales activities and propose both standard and customized solutions involving pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Actively contribute to new product and solution development, extending beyond pneumatics to include electrical and process industry applications
• Manage, monitor, and report customer product complaints, offering timely and effective solutions

About you

• Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering from a reputable university
• Prior experience in a product specialist role, particularly in industrial or pneumatic components and automation, is a strong advantage. Fresh graduates with strong potential are also encouraged to apply
• In-depth product knowledge of air cylinders/actuators, valves, fittings, and FRLs is preferred
• Proficient in both written and spoken English, especially for technical communication with headquarters technical team
• Familiarity with industrial automation applications, ideally within sectors such as Food & Beverage, Life Sciences/Pharmaceuticals, Packaging, Water Treatment, etc.
• Strong problem-solving initiative, self-motivated, and comfortable working under pressure in customer environments
• Effective communication and presentation skills. Knowledge of project management, factory automation, and process automation is a plus
• Technically adept, with experience using tools such as PLCs, CAD software, electrical actuators, and process valves
• Valid driving license with own transport
• Willing to travel extensively in Malaysia to support customers' requirements
