Job summary

Wistron Corporation in Malaysia seeks an experienced engineer to drive product development from NPI through mass production. You will maintain BOMs, specs and production configurations, ensure proper part numbers and test programs, and manage ECN/ECO/change control.

You will analyze failures across NPI, pilot, and mass production, develop test strategies, automate data collection and reporting, and support quality, cost, delivery, yield and reliability goals with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Experience in EMS / Electronics Manufacturing Services.
• Experience in NPI, trial production, mass production and product lifecycle management.
• Background as PE, FAE, EE or in consumer electronics products.

Responsibilities

• Understand product development and validation flow from PVT/EVT/DVT/MVT to MP.
• Maintain BOMs, specifications, documents and production configurations.
• Ensure line uses correct part numbers, revisions, test programs and work instructions.
• Analyze failures from NPI, mass production, ORT and customer returns.
• Drive test strategy, automation, data collection and report generation.
• Support targets for Quality, Cost, Delivery, Yield and Reliability.
• Provide status updates and root-cause analyses to customers and management.

Job description

Understand the product development and validation flow from PVT/EVT/DVT/MVT and Pilot Run to MP.

Responsible for engineering introduction and ongoing support of products from New Product Introduction (NPI) and trial production to Mass Production (MP)

Maintain product BOMs, product specifications, engineering documents, and production configurations.

Ensure the production line uses correct part numbers, revisions, test programs, and work instructions.

Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and internal change control processes.

Analyze failures from NPI, mass production, ORT, reliability testing, RMA and customer returns.

Use methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa), 8D, Pareto, Fault Tree Analysis, and DOE for problem analysis.

Support Quality, Cost, Delivery, Yield, Reliability and production continuity targets through cross-functional technical coordination, abnormality/failure analysis, yield improvement, and engineering change management.

Capable of mainboard (MB) failure analysis: read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, Boardview, PCB layouts, BOMs and component datasheets; perform fault localization, measurement verification and component-level repair based on circuit logic. Able to use tools such as oscilloscope

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related field

Experience with Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS).

Background as PE, FAE, EE, or in consumer electronics products.

Experience in NPI, pilot/trial production, mass-production introduction, or product lifecycle management.

Experience in production yield improvement, failure analysis, engineering change management, or material validation.

Willing to work on rotating day & night shift

Support test introduction from EVT, DVT, PVT, MVT, Pilot Run through MP (Mass Production).

Develop manufacturing test strategies based on product specifications and customer requirements.

Evaluate test coverage of product functions to identify untested, insufficiently covered, or duplicated tests; establish mapping between product requirements and test items.

Ensure test limits are supported by product specifications, customer requirements, and measurement capability.

Analyze failures from NPI, mass production, ORT, reliability testing, RMA, and customer returns- Use problem-analysis methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa), 8D, Pareto, Fault Tree Analysis, and DOE.

Drive automation of test execution, data collection, log analysis, report generation, version deployment, and station monitoring.

Report product status, risks, root-cause analysis, and improvement of progress to customers and management.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related field

Hands-on experience with Python for development or test script writing, able to use Python for automated testing, test data processing, and integration testing with APIs or databases.

Familiar with at least one of C / C++ or C#, able to read and understand existing code, and assist in writing or adjusting test-related programs and tools to support functional and performance testing.

Basic proficiency in Bash / Shell Script, SQL, and Visual Basic, using them to write test scripts, query and verify database contents, and create test reports or simple utilities.

Experience in factory testing

Willing to work on rotating day & night shift
