Job summary

Thunder Software Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Validation Technician to support functional validation and testing of motherboards and computer systems. This entry-level role welcomes fresh graduates with a relevant Diploma and offers hands-on lab work with established test procedures.

You will set up test systems, execute validation test cases, document results, and collaborate with Validation Engineers to identify root causes. Batu Kawan, Penang is the required workplace.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Fresh graduates or 1–2 years experience welcome.
• Internship or hands-on experience in R&D, laboratory or hardware testing encouraged.
• Basic understanding of electronic hardware and motherboard components.
• Familiarity with JIRA is a plus.
• Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
• Able to work independently or with engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional validation and testing on clients' motherboards, systems, and related hardware.
• Set up and configure test systems, hardware components, and test environments according to test requirements.
• Execute assigned validation test cases and record test results.
• Identify and report test failures/issues in JIRA, including relevant logs, screenshots, and supporting evidence.
• Perform failure reproduction and basic troubleshooting to assist Validation Engineers.
• Collect and organize test logs, system information, and other relevant data for failure analysis.
• Support basic regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains stable after changes.
• Assist Validation Engineers with daily laboratory and validation activities.
• Maintain test equipment, workstations, and validation setups in good working condition.
• Follow established test procedures, work instructions, and laboratory safety requirements.
• Willing to work at Batu Kawan, Penang (MANDATORY)

Validation Technician (Power/Board Validation) [Fresh Grads are welcomed]

We are looking for a Validation Technician to support functional validation and testing activities for clients' motherboards and computer systems. This is an entry (low)-level, hands-on role suitable for candidates with a Diploma background in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field.

Key responsibilities

Perform functional validation and testing on clients' motherboards, systems, and related hardware.

Set up and configure test systems, hardware components, and test environments according to test requirements.

Execute assigned validation test cases and accurately record test results.

Identify and report test failures/issues in JIRA, including relevant logs, screenshots, and supporting evidence.

About you

Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Fresh graduates or candidates with 1-2 years experience are welcome to apply.

Candidates with internship or hands-on experience in R&D, laboratory, semiconductor, electronics testing, product validation, or hardware testing are highly encouraged to apply.

Basic understanding of electronic hardware, computer systems, or motherboard components.

Comfortable working with hardware and performing hands‑on troubleshooting.

Experience with soldering, rework, or electronic assembly will be an added advantage.

Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems is an advantage.

Familiarity with issue‑tracking tools such as JIRA is an advantage but not mandatory.

Good attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results.

Good problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn.

Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with engineers and technicians.
