Job summary

Excel Herbal Industries Sdn Bhd invites applications for a Product Development Executive in nutraceuticals and functional foods. The role covers end-to-end development from concept to product registration, translating market trends into innovative, compliant formulations.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s/Master’s in Nutrition or related field with 2–4 years’ experience in product development. Strong PM and communication skills are essential; multilingual abilities are a bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Dietetics, Biochemistry, or closely related field.
• 2–4 years in product development within food, supplement, or nutraceutical industries (internships/research projects considered if highly relevant).
• Proven track record of formulating with vitamins, minerals, botanicals, proteins, or probiotics.
• Solid understanding of ingredient functionality and quality parameters.
• Familiarity with labeling, nutritional calculations, and claim substantiation is a plus point.
• Strong project management skills – able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
• Excellent communication to understand and meet the client’s needs.
• Client solution mindset.
• Multilingual communication is a strong bonus.

Responsibilities

• Handle inquiries from potential clients interested in nutraceutical & functional food products.
• Manage end-to-end product development from concept to product registration (powders, capsules, liquid, tablets, etc.).
• Translate market trends and consumer insights into innovative, compliant formulations.
• Prepare product proposals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Regulatory, Sales) to ensure feasibility of the product development.
• Study ingredients, specifications, efficacy and functionality.
