Givi Asia is seeking an engineering-focused professional to support our Product Development and R&D team for motorcycle accessories. The role spans concept through prototype development, testing and transfer to mass production, ensuring functional, manufacturable and cost-effective designs.
The candidate will assist in CAD design, prepare drawings and BOMs, coordinate prototypes, and work with production teams to validate designs and implement improvements.

To support the Product Development and R&D team in developing new and improved motorcycle accessories, from product concept, design and prototype development through testing, documentation and transfer to production. The role provides technical support to ensure products are functional, manufacturable, cost-effective and meet required quality standards.

Assist in developing new and improved motorcycle accessories and components.
Support senior engineers in product development projects.
Conduct basic product feasibility studies and technical evaluations.
Assist in preparing product specifications and development schedules.
Monitor assigned development activities and report progress.
Prepare and modify 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
Assist in preparing engineering drawings, BOM and product specifications.
Make design modifications based on testing, production and customer feedback.
Ensure drawings are updated according to approved engineering changes.
Support dimensional and tolerance checks.
Assist in coordinating prototype and sample production.
Prepare drawings and technical information for prototype suppliers.
Inspect prototypes against drawings and specifications.
Record prototype issues and recommend improvements.
Support prototype assembly and evaluation.
Assist in product testing and validation activities.
Prepare testing samples, test equipment and documentation.
Record and analyse basic test results.
Identify product defects or performance issues.
Support senior engineers in implementing corrective actions.
Work closely with Production, QA/QC and Tooling teams during product trials.
Assist during pilot production and trial runs.
Support troubleshooting of technical and manufacturing issues.
Ensure designs are practical for plastic injection moulding, metal fabrication, painting/coating and assembly.
Assist with the transfer of new products from development to mass production.
Assist in identifying opportunities for product and process improvement.
Support material and component evaluation.
Assist with cost reduction and value engineering activities.
Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement projects.
Communicate with suppliers regarding drawings, samples and technical requirements.
Follow up on prototype and component development.
Assist in evaluating supplier samples and identifying technical discrepancies.
Support Purchasing and R&D in resolving supplier-related technical issues.
Maintain product development files and technical records.
Update drawings, BOMs and product specifications.
Prepare prototype inspection and testing reports.
Maintain Engineering Change documentation.
Ensure proper revision control of technical documents.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, or related field.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD or other 3D CAD software.
Understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Interest in motorcycle/automotive product development is highly desirable.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willing to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
Able to conduct site/factory trials when required.
