Job summary

H A S ENERGY INDUSTRIAL (M) SDN BHD is seeking a procurement assistant in Kajang, Malaysia to source suppliers for raw materials, steel products, machinery and tools. You will monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishments as needed, while requesting and comparing quotations to secure competitive pricing and terms.

Responsibilities include preparing purchase orders, following up on deliveries, ensuring quality against POs, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or related field.
• Preferably 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or related administrative role.
• Experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing or construction is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of purchasing procedures, supplier sourcing, quotation comparison and PO processing.
• Good communication, negotiation, coordination and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, proactive and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing and identifying suitable suppliers for raw materials, steel products, machinery, tools and other company requirements.
• Assist in monitoring stock levels and coordinating replenishment of materials and consumables when required.
• Request, collect and compare quotations from suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, quality and delivery terms.
• Prepare and process purchase orders (PO) according to approved purchase requisitions and company procedures.
• Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery schedules, outstanding orders and delayed deliveries.
• Coordinate with internal departments, including Production, Project, Warehouse and Account Department, to ensure purchasing requirements are fulfilled.
• Verify the quantity, specifications, and quality of delivered goods against purchase orders and delivery orders.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding product discrepancies, damaged goods, incorrect deliveries, and replacement arrangements.
• Maintain and update purchasing records, supplier databases, quotations, purchase orders, delivery orders, and invoices.
• Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, approved budgets and authorization procedures.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by HOD/Manager.
