Job summary

Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang is seeking a Procurement / Assistant Procurement Manager to lead cross-property procurement, negotiate with suppliers, and optimize value while maintaining luxury service standards.

You will manage sourcing, tendering, and supplier evaluations, and collaborate with finance to control costs and ensure compliance. Experience in hospitality procurement is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma, degree or professional qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of procurement or sourcing experience preferred.
• Experience in a large organization or hospitality environment is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes: strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation, tender management, cost analysis and price negotiation.
• Commercial awareness with ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement across multiple properties and ensure balance of quality, quantity, service, availability and cost.
• Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and prepare supplier comparisons and recommendations.
• Prepare tender documents and coordinate tender processes.
• Evaluate bids, negotiate pricing and terms, and recommend selections to management.
• Source products/services for operations and special projects; monitor market trends.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and supplier records.
• Work with Cost Controller and departments to manage inventory and par stock levels.
• Lead and coach Purchasing Officers and Clerks; conduct performance reviews and development activities.
