Job summary

Northern Solar Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager in Malaysia. The role leads procurement strategy, supplier negotiations, and team supervision to achieve cost-effective sourcing and timely deliveries across local and overseas suppliers.

You will collaborate with Sales, Production and Store departments, monitor supplier performance, and manage budgets. Strong English, leadership, and MS Office skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least a Degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of working experience in the related field including managing a group of teams.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Good analytical skills, observant and detail-oriented with problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Good leadership quality, passion for the job, high motivation with good interpersonal skills and team player.
• Excellent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
• Oversee procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate vendors
• Provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to the procurement team to achieve set targets and foster a cohesive work environment
• Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products
• Source, negotiate and purchase materials from both local and overseas vendors
• Liaise with peers in Sales, Production and Store Department to ensure accomplishing the activities objectives
• Monitor and coordinate all purchasing and procurement activities including supplier selection, evaluation, performance monitoring and recommendation
• Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements
• Work with Accounts team to execute payments and develop, manage, and periodically revise budgets for all forecast purchases
• In charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing, and following up on Purchase Orders delivery and shipment schedules
• Monitoring commodity price to ensure purchase price is within the market price
• Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned requirements
