Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm, is partnering with a leading organisation in the Industrial sector to hire a Procurement Manager. This opportunity is based in Klang, Selangor.
Position Overview
Lead the organisation's procurement function across metal, non-metal, and import logistics categories while ensuring cost-effective and reliable supply management.
Drive operational excellence, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and strategic sourcing initiatives that support the organisation's business objectives and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all procurement activities (Metal, Non Metal and Import Logistics).
- Develop and formulate strategies on commodities and non-commodities procurement in line with company's objective and focus.
- Minimise risk exposure in supply and service contracts and maximise opportunities in operations through supplier management.
- Ensure that goods and services are supplied on time via acceptable terms and conditions.
- Lead and develop high-performing purchasing and cost estimating teams to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead and to ensure all purchases are manage via best practices according to Corporate, Company and Government Policies and to the best interest of the company and its stakeholders.
- Oversee the development of procurement and logistics processes and systems to ensure efficient delivery of goods and services at a reasonable cost.
- Identify potential suppliers, conduct vendor interviews, negotiate agreements, and manage contracts.
- Establish departmental objectives and assess direct report's performance against KPIs.
- Provide reports on target achievements and recommend necessary actions.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Business Management, Operation Management, Logistic/Transportation or equivalent.
- At least 10 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Preferable candidate with 5 years of managerial experience.
- Experience in Project Leadership or Change Management with long-term plan development or Sustainable Procurement is an added advantage.
Technical / Functional Expertise
- Experience managing procurement activities across Metal, Non Metal and Import Logistics categories.
- Strong commercial acumen and accomplished negotiator of high-value strategic contracts.
- Proven experience in supplier management, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and contract management.
- Experience overseeing procurement and logistics processes and systems.
