Job summary

Talent Recruit represents a leading pastries and bakery group in Perak, seeking a Procurement Lead to manage purchasing, supplier relations, and stock control for 14 outlets. Based in Ipoh, the role covers weekly reporting, vendor coordination, deadline management, and cost-saving sourcing with emphasis on quality and confidentiality.

Ideal candidates have a Diploma or higher in business/supply chain fields and 2–3 years in procurement, with strong English, Malay and Mandarin, and advanced MS

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Business Studies, Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 2–3 years of proven procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, preferably in a related industry.
• Proficiency in English, Malay & Mandarin for overseas sourcing and supplier communication.
• Advanced MS Excel and MS Word skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) required.

Responsibilities

• Weekly Reporting: Prepare and deliver detailed weekly PO reports to management, including order statuses and vendor performance.
• Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries per PO and resolve discrepancies.
• Deadline Management: Ensure deliveries meet deadlines and proactively prevent delays.
• Stock Monitoring & Product Review: Regularly monitor stock levels and review products to identify cost-saving or quality-improvement opportunities.
• Supplier Negotiation & Sourcing: Lead price negotiations and source new suppliers for better deals.
• Cross-Departmental Support: Act as the primary contact for production and outlet teams on procurement inquiries.
• Administrative Duties: Process purchase orders, manage supplier contracts, and maintain procurement records.
• Confidentiality Management: Handle sensitive supplier, pricing, and procurement strategy information securely.
• Ad-Hoc Tasks: Support upper management with additional procurement-related projects.

We are representing our client; one of the leading pastries and bakeries in Perak. Currently with 14 bakeries outlet in Perak, they are looking for Procurement Lead to join their team.
Job Responsibilities:

• Weekly Reporting: Prepare and deliver detailed weekly purchase order reports to the management, including order statuses, delivery timelines, and vendor performance evaluations.
• Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products/services as per the agreed purchase orders, while addressing any discrepancies or issues.
• Deadline Management: Ensure all deliveries meet the required deadlines, working proactively to avoid delays in the supply chain.
• Stock Monitoring & Product Review: Regularly monitor stock levels and conduct thorough reviews of current products/services to identify cost-saving opportunities, quality improvements, or replacement needs.
• Supplier Negotiation & Sourcing: Lead price negotiations and establish strong relationships with existing suppliers while continuously sourcing new suppliers for better deals and more efficient service.
• Cross-Departmental Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for production and outlet teams, resolving procurement-related inquiries and ensuring smooth operations.
• Administrative Duties: Provide comprehensive administrative support, including processing purchase orders, managing supplier contracts, and maintaining accurate records of procurement activities.
• Confidentiality Management: Uphold organizational confidentiality standards by securely handling sensitive information related to suppliers, pricing, and procurement strategies.
• Ad-Hoc Tasks: Support upper management with any additional procurement-related tasks or projects as needed.

Requirement

• Education: Possess at least a Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Business Studies, Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, ideally within a related industry.
• Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English, Malay & Mandarin, especially for handling overseas product sourcing and supplier communication.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word; experience with standard purchasing or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) is required.
• Negotiation & Communication: Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining positive relationships with suppliers.
• Personality Traits: High energy with positive vibes, strong communication abilities, honest, solution-oriented, and enjoys working in a dynamic, people-centered environment.
