Job summary

Ah Cheng Laksa Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a procurement professional to source materials locally and overseas, negotiate with vendors and manage purchase orders.

You will coordinate with warehouse and sales, monitor stock needs and support overseas logistics while maintaining supplier records and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Diploma or degree and 2 years’ procurement experience in F&B is required, with GMP/HACCP/ISO9001 knowledge and proficiency in AutoCount and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 2 years procurement experience in F&B or related field preferred.
• GMP/HACCP/ISO9001 knowledge an asset.
• Hands-on experience with purchasing software (AutoCount) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Source and negotiate purchase of materials from local and overseas vendors.
• Manage daily purchasing needs including issuing and tracking purchase orders.
• Coordinate with warehouse, sales and other departments on requests.
• Monitor stock levels and procurement requirements.
• Support HOD on overseas logistics arrangements.
• Maintain approved supplier list and evaluate performance.
• Ensure procurement records comply with regulations and standards.
• Safely store product specs and supplier documents.
• Suggest supplier alternatives to reduce costs.
• Assist HOD with supplier reviews and price option analyses.
• Collaborate on new projects and urgent order requests.
• Implement procurement strategies for high delivery speed and short lead times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsible to source, negotiate and purchase materials (Raw Mat/Pack Mat/Indirect/service/machineries/merchandise, etc) from both local and oversea vendors.

In-charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and following up on Purchase order delivery schedule.

Coordinate with warehouse, sales and other departments on all purchase requests.

Monitor stock requirements and purchasing needs.

Support HOD on dealing with overseas purchase logistic arrangement.

Manage approved supplier list – Direct & Indirect; Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time, best price and service.

Ensure all procurement are in proper record and in compliance to the regulation’s ad department’s standard practice.

Safe keep all products SPEC and related documents given by Supplier; to maintain records of purchase, pricing & other important data.

Assist HOD to review and analyse all suppliers, supply, price options and look for alternative sources for products.

Support Halal/QA team to communicate with local & oversea suppliers on the complaints and return as and when in needed.

Work with other departments to complete any new project and attend to urgent orders requests.

Responsible for implementing internal procurement strategies to cater to high delivery and short lead time requirements.

Perform other ad-hoc duties that may be assigned by immediate superior from time to time as deemed necessary

Job Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least diploma/bachelor’s degree in any field.

At least 2 years of working experience in procurement in F&B industry or in field of Food manufacturing, supply chain industry is an added advantage.

Knowledge in GMP, HACCP, Halal & ISO9001 is an added advantage

Hands-on experience with purchasing software (Auto-count, etc) and Microsoft; strong data entry skills

Required Language(s): Bahasa Malaysia and English, preferable for candidate who can speak & write in Mandarin as the role may need to communicate with mandarin-speaking stakeholders
