Columbia Asia Group in Malaysia is seeking a procurement professional to manage strategic sourcing for biomedical equipment and related services. You will conduct market research to identify suppliers, develop cost-effective sourcing strategies, and support standardization across hospitals.
The role involves RFQ/RFP/tender management, supplier evaluations, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations. Experience in healthcare procurement and maintenance contracts is preferred.

Source biomedical equipment, accessories, consumables, and related services from qualified suppliers.
Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, emerging technologies, and cost-saving opportunities.
Develop sourcing strategies that balance quality, service, delivery, and cost.
Support standardization initiatives across hospitals to maximize purchasing leverage.
Prepare and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQ), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and tender exercises.
Evaluate supplier proposals based on commercial and service criteria.
Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and governance requirements.
Negotiate post-warranty maintenance service for the biomedical equipment.
Evaluate maintenance proposals based on service scope, response time, uptime commitment, spare parts coverage, and overall lifecycle cost.
Coordinate contract renewals and ensure continuity of equipment maintenance.
Monitor maintenance contract performance and recommend improvements where necessary.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, warranties, service level agreements (SLAs), and contract conditions.
Monitor supplier performance, delivery, quality, and service responsiveness.
Support supplier performance reviews and vendor rationalization initiatives.
Identify cost reduction opportunities through consolidation, bulk purchasing, and contract optimization.
Perform Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis for capital equipment and maintenance services.
Track procurement savings and prepare cost-saving reports.
Ensure all procurement documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
Maintain supplier databases, contract records, pricing history, and procurement reports.
Ensure suppliers comply with applicable regulatory requirements, including medical device regulations and quality standards.
Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related discipline.
3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
Experience in healthcare, hospitals, or medical device industries is preferred.
Experience in managing tenders and supplier negotiations is an advantage.
Familiarity with maintenance service contracts for biomedical equipment is desirable.
Good understanding of biomedical equipment.
Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing methodologies, and contract management.
Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
Analytical mindset with the ability to perform cost and TCO analysis.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP/e-Procurement systems.
