Job summary

Nexus Wise Sdn Bhd is seeking a Procurement Executive to manage day-to-day procurement of trading raw materials from PO issuance through shipment tracking, customs clearance, and payment while maintaining supplier relationships and compliance with food safety standards.

You will coordinate with suppliers across multiple countries, negotiate terms, monitor orders, and support audits (ISO/HALAL/GMP). Experience with SAP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
• Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience with SAP procurement modules.

• Issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions and meet turnaround times.
• Manage supplier relationships across multiple countries.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and track shipments and payments daily.
• Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000).
• Source alternative suppliers when quality or lead-time issues arise.

Job description

Manage day-to-day procurement of trading raw materials from purchase order issuance through shipment tracking, customs clearance, and payment while maintaining strong supplier relationships and compliance with food safety and quality certification standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives
• Research and identify potential suppliers and vendors who can meet the organization's needs
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, reliability, and quality standards to ensure they can provide the goods and services required
• Issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions and meeting agreed turnaround times
• Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers across multiple countries
• Negotiate pricing, MOQ, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers
• Monitor and review supplier performance biannually to ensure they meet the organization's requirements and standards
• Track outstanding orders, shipment status, and payment progress daily
• Monitor procurement processes to ensure they are efficient and effective
• Analyze procurement data to identify trends and patterns
• Manage procurement budgets to ensure the organization gets the best value for its money
• Verify supplier invoices and process payment documentation in SAP
• Coordinate with freight forwarders on customs clearance and import documentation
• Manage tax exemption applications and import permits
• Maintain up-to-date product and certification records
• Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000)
• Source alternative suppliers when quality, lead-time, or service issues arise

About you

Prior experience in procurement, supply chain, or vendor management

Working knowledge of SAP procurement modules (training provided if needed)

Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills

Comfortable managing high order volumes with accuracy under deadlines

Familiarity with import processes and customs documentation is an advantage

Exposure to food safety, halal, or quality certification standards is a plus

Experience integrating or using AI tools to improve procurement processes and reporting is an advantage
