Job summary

Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems Asia Sdn Bhd is seeking a procurement professional to manage supplier onboarding from China, negotiate favorable terms, and monitor supplier performance within a manufacturing environment.

The role requires 3-5 years in procurement/logistics, Mandarin proficiency, and a degree in relevant fields. You will collaborate with legal, finance, and engineering teams to optimize end-to-end procurement processes and drive cost efficiencies.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in Procurement/Purchasing/Supply Chain/Logistics in Manufacturing.
• Mandarin proficiency is required due to suppliers based in China.
• Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
• End-to-end procurement expertise: supplier sourcing, price negotiation, contract mgmt, PO execution, delivery coordination.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and onboard suppliers from China that meet Company's needs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers; negotiate terms for pricing and delivery.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews to uphold quality.
• Review and analyze contract terms to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with company and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with legal and finance to finalize and execute contracts.
• Contribute to procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Continuously evaluate and optimize procurement processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Stay updated on market trends, regulations, and supplier capabilities.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to align procurement with project requirements.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders to provide updates and support project delivery.

Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery.

Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews to uphold quality standards.

Review and analyze contract terms to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with company & legal' s requirements and policies.

Collaborate with legal and finance teams to finalize and execute contracts.

Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement strategies aligned with the company's objectives.

Continuously evaluate and optimize procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.

Stay updated on market trends, industry regulations, and supplier capabilities.

Collaborate with colleagues such as project managers, engineers, and others to understand project requirements and ensure alignment with procurement objectives.

Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and support project delivery.

3-5 years' experience in Procurement/ Purchasing/ Supply Chain/ Logistics in Manufacturing environment. Mandarin proficiency is required due to the large proportion of suppliers based in China. Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field. Skilled in end-to-end procurement processes, including supplier sourcing, price negotiation, contract management, purchase order execution, and delivery coordination. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
