Job summary

TF-AMD Penang is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to lead purchasing, supplier negotiations and material planning for its Penang plants. You will drive cost-effective procurement, monitor supplier performance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

The role requires strong negotiation, planning and leadership skills, with a focus on delivering value, reducing costs, and maintaining high-quality procurement practices across Batu Lepas and Bayan Lepas

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or above in equivalent field.
• 3–5 years' industrial experience with 1–3 years relevant experience in Purchasing/Material management.
• Good knowledge of supplier management and sourcing skills.
• Good knowledge of SAM MM module, inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities, including PO issuance, sourcing, contract management and supplier negotiations.
• Monitor supplier performance for price, quality, flexibility and on-time delivery.
• Drive cost-reduction initiatives and optimize purchasing strategies.
• Plan material supply, inventory levels and procurement to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Collaborate with Material Planning, Production, Engineering, Finance and Warehouse.
• Provide operational support to Batu Lepas and Bayan Lepas factories as required.

Job description

• Involves in sourcing & purchasing of materials and equipment, tools and consumables required for maintenance repair and operations of the company.
• Managing the Sale of Scrap materials including identifying potential buyers, negotiating sales agreement, manage logistic arrangements and maximizing the scrap value to generate revenue for the factory.
• Daily tasks include identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing supplier business relationships, ensuring on time delivery, and optimizing inventory and purchases to minimize cost while maintaining operation efficiency.
• Also requires tracking factory spends on commodity related items, analyze market trends and implementing cost-saving strategies.
• Local & regional procurement team, ATMP and other supporting functions.
• Willing to station/travel to both plant for support as and when required.

Requirements

Supply Chain Specialist:

Responsibilities

• Monitor supplier performance, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, flexibility and on-time delivery.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives, optimize purchasing strategies and ensure purchase price accuracy.
• Plan and manage material supply, inventory levels and procurement activities to ensure uninterrupted operations and meet customer demand.
• Monitor material availability, supplier lead times and inventory performance to minimize supply disruptions and excess inventory.
• Analyze market trends, factory spending and supply chain data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Material Planning, Production, Engineering, Finance and Warehouse, to ensure effective supply chain operations.
• Provide operational support to Batu Lepas and Bayan Lepas factories as required.

Requirements
