Job summary

W&S Plastics Sdn Bhd in Kulai, Johor, seeks a Process Engineer/Supervisor - Assembly for a full-time role. You will lead the night shift on the assembly line, drive process improvements, and ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery in a cleanroom environment.

The ideal candidate has a engineering degree, 3+ years on an assembly line, and proven leadership. You will implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies and foster a multi-skilled, proactive team culture.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years in assembly manufacturing line.
• Experience supervising production teams and assembly line operations.
• Strong knowledge of assembly processes, tooling and automation systems.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership across levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage the night shift assembly operation in an ISO 7 cleanroom.
• Maintain 100% on-time DIFOT by ensuring job orders are completed on schedule.
• Address customer complaints and DPPM using root cause analysis.
• Measure and reduce scrap rates by job order monthly across all stations.
• Ensure proper line clearance and accurate recording at each station.
• Maintain 5S and disciplined operations in the cleanroom.
• Provide continuous training to multi-skill all assembly operators.
• Minimise machine downtime with preventive maintenance and spare parts planning.
• Manage raw material and finished goods inventories with variance control.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Process Engineer/Supervisor - Assembly to join W&S Plastics Sdn Bhd in Kulai, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our assembly operations and driving continuous improvement across our manufacturing processes. As a Process Engineer/Supervisor, you will bridge the gap between technical engineering and operational management, ensuring our assembly lines operate at peak efficiency whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be instrumental in enhancing productivity, reducing waste, and implementing innovative solutions that support the company's strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

Responsible for managing the night shift assembly operation in a ISO 7 cleanroom environment.

Maintain a 100% DIFOT to customer. Which means ensuring that Job Orders are completed on time.

Customer complaints and DPPM kept to a minimum. Use Root Cause and Corrective Action Techniques to analyse failures.

Measure, manage & reduce scrap rates by Job Order on a monthly basis for all assembly stations.

Manage kitting effectively by Job to ensure that the correct parts are kitted to the line and documented on the Job Orders.

Ensure that Line Clearance is performed properly and recorder correctly at each station in every Job Order.

Operator Discipline and 5S is always maintained in the Cleanroom.

Continuous training and assessment for all assembly operators so that they all are multi-skilled and capable of running all stations.

Minimise machine/equipment downtime by a good maintenance and spare part program.

Manage inventory of Raw Materials and Finished Goods and ensure that variances between Physical and Pronto numbers are kept to a minimum.

What we're looking for

Degree / Diploma in Engineering or equivalent prefered

3 years’ experience in assembly manufacturing line

Solid knowledge and experiences in operation of assembly line

Proven experience in supervising production teams and managing assembly line operations

Strong understanding of assembly processes, tooling, fixtures and automation systems

Experience with process optimisation techniques including Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex operational issues

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation

Leadership capabilities with experience in training, coaching and developing team members

Knowledge of quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001 or equivalent standards

Familiarity with plastics manufacturing or related industries is highly desirable

Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities
