Job summary

W&S Plastics Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer, or Supervisor to join our Kulai, Johor facility. The role focuses on maintaining and enhancing our quality management systems, conducting inspections, and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing.

You will ensure compliance with ISO standards, manage documentation and CAPA, and collaborate across production, engineering, and procurement to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years in QA/QC in manufacturing or plastics environments.
• Proficiency in SPC, FMEA, and DOE.
• Experience with quality management software and data analysis tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metrology per customer/FAI requirements, including vision scope programming and metrology fixture design.
• Ensure GR&R is acceptable and compliant with standards.
• Coordinate FAI, MSA, PPAP per requirements and timelines.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and analysis to identify defects.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement CAPA to prevent recurrence.
• Oversee quality documentation, traceability, and audit trails.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and procurement to resolve quality issues.
• Conduct internal and assist with external ISO audits; ensure compliance.
• Prepare and present quality reports highlighting metrics and risks.

About the role We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer, or Supervisor to join our quality assurance and control team at our facility in Kulai, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards and regulatory requirements. Depending on your experience and expertise, you will be considered for the appropriate level within this role. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our quality management systems, conducting inspections and testing, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

Prepare metrology according to customer/FAI requirement including vision scope programming and designing metrology fixture. Ensure GR&R is acceptable.

Ensure FAI, MSA, PPAP are conducted according to requirement and meet timeline.

Conduct regular inspections, testing, and analysis of products throughout the manufacturing process to identify defects and non-conformities

Perform root cause analysis on quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve problems and prevent recurrence with team.

Manage and oversee quality documentation, traceability records, and compliance documentation to ensure complete audit trails

Collaborate with production, engineering, and procurement teams to resolve quality-related challenges and improve manufacturing processes

Conduct internal audits and manage external audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer quality requirements

Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting key metrics, risks, and recommendations

Maintain calibration records for testing equipment and ensure all quality tools are fit for purpose.

What we're looking for

Minimum Diploma or Degree qualification in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience). Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Minimum 3–5 years' experience in quality assurance and control, preferably within a manufacturing or plastics production environment

Proficiency in quality control tools and methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Design of Experiments (DOE)

Experience with quality management software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and at all organisational levels

Leadership and team management capabilities (essential for Supervisor and Senior Engineer roles)

Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in quality documentation and reporting.

Established in 1978, W&S Plastics has continued to grow and improve throughout the years. We are now the largest and most advanced custom injection molder in NSW Australia.

We first started in October 2016 with a manufacturing facility in I Park Kulai, Johor. This facility grew from a brand new, empty factory, to an operational state-of-the-art injection molding facility in just 6 months thanks the dedication and hard work of our team. Our moulding and sub assembly operations are housed in an ISO 8 Cleanroom.

We recently added a new manufacturing site in I Park Kulai (5 minutes from our old facility).

This new facility has a ISO 7 Cleanroom that will be doing full assembly for a new OEM customer.
