Job summary

Jora Malaysia in Senai, Johor Bahru is seeking a Production Engineer to identify manufacturing requirements for new product development and to ensure smooth, cost-effective integration into production.

You will design production layouts, workcells, tooling and processes to boost productivity, develop standard work, and support daily production activities with cross‑functional teams to meet ISO and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Experience in process engineering, manufacturing or production engineering is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Experience in process improvement, production layout, tooling or lean manufacturing will be an advantage.
  • Able to work closely with production teams and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify manufacturing requirements for new product development and ensure smooth, cost-effective integration into production.
  • Design and optimise production layouts, workcells, fixtures, tooling and manufacturing processes to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, assembly procedures and standard work methods to reduce process variation.
  • Manage daily production activities including job orders, manpower planning, material availability, workflow and production documentation.
  • Lead continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives, including process optimisation, Poka Yoke and root cause analysis to minimise downtime and defects.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, suppliers and other departments to resolve technical and production issues and ensure timely fulfilment.
  • Monitor production KPIs including productivity, OTD, stock accuracy, quality and downtime, while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, safety and 5S requirements.
  • Support machinery installation, equipment maintenance and plant start-up/shutdown activities, providing technical support and training to production employees.

Location: Senai, Johor Bahru
Salary: Up to RM4,500
Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
  • Saturday: 8:30am – 2:30pm
  • 5.5 working days per week
