Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia's precision manufacturing sector seeks a Costing Engineer to determine costs for CNC machining steps, including setup, machining, inspection and finishing. You will collaborate with QA, Engineering and supply chain to ensure cost estimates align with pricing strategies and customer expectations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2–5 years of experience in quality engineering within manufacturing, preferably in precision industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the precision industry or a related field.
• Good knowledge in GD & T
• Good understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Good Communication and Collaboration
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions to improve product quality and process efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Determine the cost of each step in the CNC machining process, including setup time, machining time, inspection, and finishing.
• Hands-on experience with various manufacturing techniques, including CNC machining (3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis)
• Collaborate with other departments (QA, Engineering, NPI, supply chain) To ensure cost estimates align with pricing strategies and customer expectations.
• Strong ability to manage projects & ensure timely delivery within short lead times.
• Provide cost breakdowns and justifications as needed during negotiations or contract discussions.
• Ensure all costing activities comply with customer’s requirements such as specifications, standards, and special requirements and criticality on the product requirements.
• Ability to perform other related duties as assigned by management
