Job summary

Talent Trader Group Pte Ltd is seeking a Manufacturing/Product Engineer to develop and optimise processes for sheet metal fabrication, stamping, CNC machining and assembly in a Penang-based facility.

You will provide technical support to production teams, drive productivity, and implement continuous improvement through Lean, 5S and Kaizen. Collaboration with Design, Quality and Purchasing is essential to ensure ISO-aligned practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication, stamping, CNC machining, and assembly is highly advantageous.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, process validation, and continuous improvement methods.
• Experience in manufacturing troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and optimise manufacturing processes for precision sheet metal fabrication, stamping, machining, and electrical cabinet assembly.
• Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshoot process-related issues, and minimise manufacturing downtime.
• Drive productivity improvements, reduce cycle times and material wastage, and optimise production costs through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methods.
• Support new product development, prototype builds, process validation, and production ramp-up to ensure a smooth transition from design to mass production.
• Prepare and maintain process flow charts, work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process parameters, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Investigate production defects, process deviations, and recurring manufacturing issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to improve jigs, fixtures, tooling, and equipment to enhance process capability, product quality, and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with the Quality Department to ensure manufacturing processes meet customer specifications, quality standards, and applicable ISO requirements.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Design, and Purchasing teams to implement engineering changes and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Analyse production data, scrap rates, cycle times, and process efficiency, and recommend improvement measures based on findings.
• Assist with technical investigations, process reviews, and internal, external, or customer audits as required.

Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, process validation, and continuous improvement methods.

Experience in manufacturing troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and quality tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA is an advantage.
