Job summary

JB Cocoa Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Process Engineer to support the Process Optimization team in monitoring, analyzing, and improving cocoa production processes to ensure stable operations, consistent product quality, and improved yield.

You will identify process issues, conduct trials, validate results, and drive successful implementation of improvements, collaborating with Production, Maintenance, QA, and other teams to sustain enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of experience in Process Engineer or process improvement.
• Experience in production process monitoring and optimization.
• Experience in manufacturing, preferably food/cocoa.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; SAP knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily process performance and identify deviations from standard parameters.
• Analyze production data, process trends, yield, losses, downtime, and equipment performance.
• Review and optimize process parameters to improve efficiency, quality, and utilization.
• Identify bottlenecks, variation, and issues; propose improvements.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, QA, and cross-functional teams to investigate issues and roots.
• Plan and conduct process trials; test new parameters or changes.
• Validate trial results with production data and recommend actions.
• Ensure approved improvements are implemented, monitored, and sustained in daily production.
• Develop and update standard operating parameters for cocoa products and recipes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to yield, losses, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Prepare process reports, trial updates, data analyses, and progress reports.

We are looking for a Process Engineer to support the Process Optimization team in monitoring, analyzing, and improving production processes to ensure stable operations, consistent product quality, better yield, and improved production efficiency.

This role is expected to identify process issues, analyze root causes, propose improvement actions, conduct trials, validate results, and ensure successful implementation of process improvements in production.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Monitor daily process performance and identify any deviation from standard process parameters.
• Analyze production data, process trends, yield, losses, downtime, and equipment performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Review, establish, and optimize process parameters to improve production efficiency, product consistency, and equipment utilization.
• Identify process bottlenecks, process variation, and operational issues, and propose suitable improvement actions.
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, QA, and other relevant teams to investigate process-related issues and determine root causes.
• Plan and conduct process trials to test new parameters, improvement ideas, or process changes.
• Validate trial results using production data and recommend suitable actions for implementation.
• Ensure approved process improvements are properly implemented, monitored, and sustained in daily production.
• Develop, maintain, and update standard operating parameters for different cocoa products and recipes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to yield improvement, loss reduction, productivity improvement, cost reduction, and process stability.
• Prepare process reports, trial updates, data analysis, and improvement progress reports accurately and on time.
• Perform any other duties or assignments as instructed by the superior or Management.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in a Process Engineer or related process improvement role.
• Currently in a process engineering role or has hands-on experience in production process monitoring and optimization.
• Experience in manufacturing environment is preferred; experience in food, cocoa, ingredients, or process-based manufacturing would be an added advantage.
• Good data analysis skills with the ability to interpret production data, process trends, yield, losses, and equipment performance.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and process improvement.
• Able to conduct trials, validate results, and follow through improvement implementation.
• Good understanding of production process control, process parameters, and equipment utilization.
• Good communication and coordination skills, with ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; knowledge of SAP, or other data analysis tools would be an added advantage.
