Job summary

Greatech Group in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor/Engineer to lead preventive maintenance across the plant. You will develop schedules, manage technicians, and drive reliability improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and hands-on experience with automation equipment, PLCs, sensors, and robotics. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams and mentor technicians, while tracking KPIs such as downtime and PM completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics engineering required.
• Experience with manufacturing equipment, automation systems and industrial machinery.
• Experience in setup, installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, servo motors, pneumatics, and robotics is a plus.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and project coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop preventive maintenance schedules (annual to daily).
• Create maintenance work instructions, SOPs, and checklists.
• Identify critical equipment and set maintenance frequencies.
• Assign and monitor technician tasks.
• Support technicians during complex maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for frequent breakdowns.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, EHS, and suppliers.
• Plan spare parts and control inventory.
• Provide technical training for technicians.
• Monitor KPIs like downtime and PM completion.
• Lead equipment reliability and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain maintenance history and documentation.

• Creating maintenance work instructions, checklists, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
• Identifying critical equipment and defining maintenance frequency.
• Assigning and monitoring maintenance tasks for technicians.

• Conducting root-cause analysis for repeated breakdowns and major equipment failures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and industrial machinery.
• Experience in equipment setup, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, servo motors, pneumatics, and robotics is an advantage.
• Ability to analyze equipment performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documents.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Good communication and project coordination skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
