Job summary

Greatech Group in Penang, Malaysia seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include updating records, supporting installation and commissioning, and maintaining 5S and safety SOPs. Shift work and overtime may be required to keep production lines running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in electrical, electronics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems.
• Able to perform installation, setup, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Sheet Metal Fabrication Machines is an advantage.
• Willing to work shifts, overtime, or provide support during equipment breakdowns when required.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance activities daily, weekly, monthly, and scheduled.
• Carry out corrective maintenance and repairs during equipment breakdowns.
• Inspect equipment and identify abnormal conditions.
• Respond to maintenance calls within defined response time.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems according to competency level.
• Update maintenance checklists, work orders, repair records, and spare-part usage records.
• Escalate major or repeated equipment issues to the Maintenance Engineer.
• Support equipment installation, modification, relocation, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety, and 5S standards in maintenance work areas.
• Follow approved maintenance SOPs, lockout/tagout requirements, and safety procedures.
