Job summary

Guocera Tile Industries in Malaysia seeks a maintenance-driven technician to oversee press machines, troubleshoot faults, and drive improvements for productivity and quality.

You will collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Technical teams, support preventive maintenance, and help validate processes in a fast-paced ceramic tile manufacturing environment in Kluang, Johor.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Eng., Electrical Eng., or related.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in ceramic tile, building materials, heavy industry, or automated manufacturing is a plus.
• Knowledge of press machines, hydraulic systems, automation controls, sensors, PLC, and HMI systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation and performance of press machines to meet targets and quality.
• Monitor machine parameters and optimize productivity while minimizing defects.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and automation issues to reduce downtime.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for press equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Technical teams on improvements.
• Lead root cause analysis for process and equipment issues and implement solutions.
• Support machine setup, tuning, mold changes, and process validation.
• Ensure safety, quality, and operational standards; maintain safe working environment.
• Prepare technical reports and monitor performance trends for improvement plans.

Job description

Oversee the daily operation and performance of press machines to ensure production targets, product quality, and operational efficiency are achieved.

Monitor machine parameters, analyze production data, and implement corrective actions to optimize productivity and minimize defects.

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and automation-related issues to reduce machine downtime and improve reliability.

Coordinate and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities for press equipment and related systems.

Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Technical teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead root cause analysis for process and equipment-related issues and recommend effective solutions.

Support machine setup, commissioning, parameter tuning, mold changes, and process validation activities.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards while maintaining a safe working environment.

Prepare technical reports, monitor equipment performance trends, and propose improvement plans to enhance overall manufacturing effectiveness.

Job Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in ceramic tile, building materials, heavy industry, or automated manufacturing is an added advantage.

Knowledge of press machines, hydraulic systems, automation controls, sensors, PLC, and HMI systems.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Experience in equipment reliability improvement, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.

Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and root cause analysis techniques.

Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.

Able to work independently, manage priorities, and perform under a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
