Job summary

Sinergia Talents in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Precious Metals Sales Trader who combines client acquisition with solid trade execution to grow our physical precious metals business.

You will develop new clients and wholesale channels, provide pricing, manage risk, and ensure compliance in a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate holds a Finance/Economics degree, has experience in physical metals trading, and is fluent in English and Mandarin, with willingness to travel.

• Proven experience in physical precious metals trading, sales or commercial roles.
• Fluent English and Mandarin (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Develop and acquire new suppliers and customers for Gold, Silver and PGM business.
• Conduct market intelligence, competitor analysis and identify new business opportunities.
• Lead customer negotiations, pricing discussions and commercial proposals.
• Initiate the KYC process and counterparty assessment before onboarding new accounts.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and suppliers while driving targets.
• Provide daily pricing and commercial quotations.
• Execute precious metals and FX transactions within approved limits.
• Monitor trading positions, exposure and P/L performance.
• Verify trading book records and support management decision-making.
• Review trading details sheet and purchase agreements before execution.
• Ensure compliance with trading policies and risk management framework.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Precious Metals Sales Trader who combines strong client acquisition capabilities with solid trade execution skills to drive growth in our physical precious metals trading business.

You will play a dual role: providing institutional and corporate clients with trading services and risk management solutions, while proactively developing new clients and wholesale channels. The ideal candidate possesses deep product knowledge in precious metals, outstanding business development acumen and a rigorous compliance mindset in a highly regulated financial environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development & Commercial Management

• Develop and acquire new suppliers and customers for Gold, Silver and PGM business.
• Conduct market intelligence, competitor analysis and identify new business opportunities.
• Lead customer negotiations, pricing discussions and commercial proposals.
• Initiate the KYC Process and counterparty assessment before onboarding new accounts.
• Build and maintain long‑term strategic relationships with customers and suppliers, while driving sales targets, profitability targets and business growth initiatives.

Trading & Pricing Management

• Provide daily pricing and commercial quotations.
• Execute precious metals and foreign exchange transactions within approved limits.
• Identify trading opportunities to maximize profitability.
• Monitor trading positions, exposure and profit/loss performance.
• Verify trading book records and support management decision‑making.

Contract, Risk & Governance

• Review trading details sheet, purchase agreements and sales contracts before execution.
• Ensure compliance with company trading policies and risk management framework.
• Monitor outstanding exposures, payment risks and customer credit limits.
• Support audits, management reviews and regulatory filings to ensure compliance with local financial regulations.

Reporting & Leadership

• Prepare management reports on sales, trading performance and profitability, along with market updates and business forecasts to support strategic planning.
• Coordinate closely with Sales Support, Operations, Finance and Logistics teams to ensure seamless cross functional execution.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Must-to-Haves:

• Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related field.
• Proven experience in physical precious metals trading, sales or commercial roles within the commodities sector, covering the end‑to‑end trade lifecycle.
• Solid understanding of precious metals products (Gold, Silver, PGM) and pricing mechanisms.
• Demonstrated experience in business development and client acquisition.
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment with attention to detail.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken)
• Willing to travel for business at the short notice.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with international bullion banks, commodity trading houses or refineries.
• Familiarity with LBMA market structure.
• Knowledge of FX hedging or structured metal products. Valid driving license.
