Job summary

Hirehub Group is seeking a qualified Engineer to lead on-site installation guidance, commissioning, testing and maintenance of high and low voltage electrical systems, switchboards and HVAC/M&E interfaces.

The role requires a Diploma/Bachelor in Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years in HV/LV installations and a registered BEM Graduate Engineer. You will travel between Malaysia and Singapore project sites as needed and ensure all work complies with local regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or higher.
• Minimum 2 years in installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of HV/LV systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical protection, power distribution, testing, and commissioning procedures.
• Familiar with Malaysian electrical regulations and a registered BEM Graduate Engineer.
• HVAC/M&E commissioning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site installation guidance, commissioning, testing, acceptance and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian regulations and OHS rules for electrical and M&E works.
• Manage full commissioning lifecycle from pre-commissioning to handover.
• Prepare commissioning plans, procedures, schedules and documentation.
• Coordinate activities with consultants, contractors, clients and subcontractors to meet safety, time and spec requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and technical troubleshooting.
• Lead testing and validation to meet project specifications and standards.
• Review drawings and manuals prior to execution.
• Supervise site personnel and ensure adherence to HSE and quality standards.
• Monitor progress, prepare technical reports and provide updates to management.
• Conduct post-commissioning reviews and identify improvement opportunities.

Our client specialise in manufacture and repair of switchgear, switchboards, electrical control panels, electric motors, transformers, and power distribution equipment. They provide electrical manufacturing and engineering solutions for industrial and commercial applications in Singapore.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for on-site installation guidance, commissioning, testing, acceptance, and maintenance of high and low voltage electrical systems, switchboards, distribution panels, transformers, generators, and associated electrical equipment.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, parameter calibration, functional testing, and troubleshooting of air conditioning and HVAC systems, ensuring seamless integration with electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ensure all electrical and M&E works comply with Malaysian regulations, and relevant occupational safety and health regulations.
• Manage the full commissioning lifecycle from pre-commissioning, testing, system integration, commissioning, performance verification, to final handover.
• Prepare and execute commissioning plans, procedures, schedules, and commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with consultants, contractors, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within specifications.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and technical troubleshooting during installation and commissioning activities.
• Lead testing and validation of Electrical and M&E systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, statutory requirements, and operational standards.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, operation manuals, and commissioning documentation prior to execution.
• Supervise site personnel and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with HSE, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Monitor commissioning progress, prepare technical reports, and provide regular project updates to management and clients.
• Conduct post-commissioning reviews, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure proper project documentation and handover.

MUST-have Qualifications

• Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of high and low voltage electrical systems, transformers, switchboards, generators, or HVAC/M&E systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical protection systems, power distribution, electrical testing, and commissioning procedures.
• Familiar with Malaysian electrical regulations.
• Must be a registered BEM Graduate Engineer.
• Experience in HVAC system commissioning and M&E integration will be an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills with consultants, contractors, and clients.
• Willing to travel or be stationed at project sites between Malaysia and Singapore as required.
