Amlex Technology Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Plating Process Engineer to join our engineering team on a full-time basis at our facility in Bukit Minyak, Penang. This is a strategic position within our Process Engineering division, where you will play a crucial role in optimising and managing our electroplating and surface finishing processes. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, efficiency and compliance of our plating operations whilst contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that drive operational excellence across the organisation.
Develop, optimise and maintain plating process parameters including bath composition, temperature, current density, and plating duration to meet quality standards and production targets
Monitor and analyse plating operations to identify inefficiencies, defects and areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions as necessary
Conduct process validation and troubleshooting to resolve plating defects such as uneven coating, pitting, burning and adhesion issues
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and workplace safety standards related to chemical handling and electroplating operations
Collaborate with production teams to implement process changes and provide technical guidance on best practices
Design and conduct experiments to evaluate new plating materials, chemistries and techniques that enhance product quality or reduce costs
Maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions and standard operating procedures for all plating operations
Support quality assurance activities by performing process capability studies and statistical analysis of plating results
Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical training on plating processes and equipment
Liaise with equipment suppliers and chemical vendors to evaluate new technologies and materials
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in electroplating, surface finishing or related process engineering roles
Strong technical knowledge of electroplating chemistry, metallurgy and surface treatment processes
Proficiency in process control, quality assurance methodologies and statistical analysis techniques
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex process issues
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
