Rolls-Royce Power Systems in Malaysia looks for a Site Financial Controller to partner with the Plant Finance Manager, owning plant financial control and performance management for the PowerGen assembly operation.

You will drive budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, translating production and engineering activities into clear financial insights and actionable plans. The role emphasizes strong governance and continuous improvement across finance processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Financial Controlling, Plant Finance, FP&A, Manufacturing Finance, Cost Accounting or Commercial Finance roles.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing, assembly, engineering, energy, power generation or industrial products environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, production variances, inventory valuation, overhead absorption and manufacturing performance management.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, month-end closing, management reporting and business performance reviews.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Procurement and Commercial teams.
• Experience reviewing product, project or customer profitability, including margin assumptions, cost-to-serve, warranty exposure and margin leakage.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Plant Finance Manager and cross-functional leaders to drive financial governance and performance.
• Maintain a strong control environment across plant processes, ensuring policy and audit compliance.
• Provide forward-looking insights and translate plant performance into clear financial actions.
• Drive profitability, cost, cash and working capital across the site.
• Lead annual budget, long-range plan and rolling forecast for production volumes, revenue, gross margin and operating expenses.
• Analyze monthly results vs plan, identify root causes and agree corrective actions.
• Develop plant performance indicators and review results with owners and deadlines.
• Own standard costing, BOMs, routings, labour and overhead allocations, and cost governance.
• Analyze variances, recommend corrective actions and ensure inventory valuation accuracy.
• Support product/project profitability reviews and cost-to-serve analyses.
• Review customer margins, pricing support and margin leakage with commercial teams.
• Prepare concise management reporting and maintain balance-sheet controls.
• Coordinate audit requirements and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Protect data quality of financial and operational master data.
• Lead evaluations of plant investments, capex approvals and post-investment reviews.
• Quantify productivity improvements and track cost-reduction initiatives.
