Fengshi Metal Technology in Penang seeks a Production Planning Specialist to plan and schedule production activities, coordinate with departments, and monitor progress to meet delivery deadlines.
The role requires a diploma or degree in manufacturing or related field, 2–3 years in production planning, familiarity with ERP/MRP and Excel, and strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills; you will drive continuous improvement.
Plan and schedule production activities according to customer orders, delivery requirements, production capacity, and material availability.
Prepare and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
Coordinate with Production, Sales/Customer Service, Purchasing, Warehouse, Engineering, and Quality departments to ensure smooth production operations.
Monitor production progress and follow up with relevant departments to ensure orders are completed according to schedule.
Identify potential production delays, material shortages, capacity constraints, or other issues and take appropriate follow-up actions.
Review and update production plans based on changes in customer requirements, order priorities, machine capacity, manpower availability, and material supply.
Coordinate material requirements with the Purchasing and Warehouse teams to ensure materials are available for production.
Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and ensure efficient production flow throughout different manufacturing processes.
Plan production capacity based on manpower, machine availability, and production lead time.
Follow up on urgent orders and coordinate with relevant departments to meet customer delivery deadlines.
Maintain accurate production planning records, reports, and relevant documentation.
Analyze production planning data and recommend improvements to production efficiency and delivery performance.
Support inventory control and minimize excess or obsolete materials where applicable.
Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve production planning and workflow efficiency.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior or management.
Job Requirements
Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 2–3 years of experience in production planning, material planning, or production coordination, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in sheet metal fabrication, stamping, machining, or related manufacturing industries will be an added advantage.
Good understanding of production processes, production capacity, material planning, and inventory control.
Familiar with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Able to manage multiple orders and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with different departments.
Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently.
