Compart Systems Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Senior Planner to develop and manage production plans, ensuring timely delivery of customer orders.
You will coordinate with multiple departments to align demand with material availability and capacity, monitor inventory, and drive corrective actions to minimize delays. The role requires 5+ years in production planning within manufacturing, strong ERP and Excel skills, and a solid grasp of Lean/MRP principles.
The Senior Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring production plans and schedules to ensure customer orders are delivered on time. This position coordinates closely with Business Development, Customer Service, Production, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and subcontractors to align customer demand with material availability and production capacity. The role also monitors inventory, resolves production constraints, manages job orders, and drives corrective actions to minimize delivery delays and improve overall planning performance.
Key responsibilities
Develop and maintain monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on customer orders, sales forecasts, inventory targets, material availability, and production capacity.
Review customer requirements and provide accurate order commitment and delivery dates.
Coordinate with Business Development and Customer Service teams on customer demand, order priorities, delivery requirements, and schedule changes.
Work closely with Production, Procurement, Material Control, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and subcontractors to ensure smooth production flow and timely delivery.
Conduct capacity planning and identify potential shortages, bottlenecks, or production constraints that may affect delivery performance.
Monitor actual production progress against the approved schedule and initiate recovery or rescheduling plans when delays occur.
Expedite critical activities involving production, materials, quality inspection, external processing, subcontractors, and shipment.
Create, release, maintain, and close job orders according to the approved production schedule.
Monitor ageing, delayed, or incomplete job orders and coordinate with the relevant departments for timely resolution.
Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory to ensure alignment with inventory targets and production requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in production planning, material planning, production control, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
Experience coordinating production schedules across multiple departments and manufacturing processes.
Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, inventory control, and order fulfilment.
Proficient in ERP or production planning systems such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production data analysis.
Experience in precision manufacturing, semiconductor, engineering, metal fabrication, or related industries is an advantage.
Experience supervising or guiding junior planners is preferred.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, MRP, and continuous improvement principles is an advantage.
