Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
  • Possession of a valid Practicing Certificate issued by the MAHPC (or equivalent).
  • 2 years of clinical experience, or 5+ years in hospital/ambulatory care settings.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation abilities.
  • Empathy and active listening in patient and staff interactions.
  • Coaching and motivation for team empowerment.
  • Cultural sensitivity and emotional intelligence.
  • Collaborative leadership within a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out professional physiotherapy duties as delegated by HOS and rotate duties.

  • Record incidents/accidents involving patients or family members.
  • Record faults in equipment and ensure follow-up actions.

Job description

To carry out professional physiotherapy duties as delegated by HOS. Exact duties will normally vary on rotational basis but every effort will be taken to follow stated CPD needs and objectives of individual staff.

Ensure appropriate professional assessment, care and attention given to all patients.

To maintain internationally recognized standard of physiotherapy practice.

To ensure appropriate recording of any incident/accident involving patients or family members under care of physiotherapist.

To record any fault in any equipment/machine and ensure appropriate action is taken and followed up.

Ensure actively participate in quality improvement or initiative activities or any other new service that is introduced by the department.

Ensure continuous education to upgrade professional skills and knowledge in physiotherapy.

To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and another person.

To co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty.

To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer.

To comply with any instructions or measure on occupational safety and health.

Ensure all policies and procedures of Integrated Management System (IMS), and / or Hospital Accreditation are adhered to and records maintained, if and when these programs are implemented.

Ensure the policies on patient’s and family’s rights are addressed at all times.

Ensure compliance to Patient’s safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008).

Ensure adhere to Standard People Practice (SPP).

Ensure to actively participate in al 5S activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

DiplomaorDegreein Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.

Possession of a validPracticing Certificateissued by the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) (or equivalent national body).

2 years of clinical experience, 5 years or more experience in a hospital, ambulatory care, or related setting.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Conflict resolution and negotiation abilities.

Empathy and active listening in patient and staff interactions.
