Job summary

STMicroelectronics Kuala Lumpur is seeking an HR Operations professional to join our newly formed People Services team. You will manage end-to-end employee lifecycle activities for APAC/EMEA regions, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with local and corporate policies.

The role emphasizes collaboration with regional partners, HR Centers of Excellence, and service delivery excellence. Fluency in Japanese and/or Korean is advantageous, with strong communication and data handling

Overview

We are a newly established People Services team based in Kuala Lumpur, strengthening our capabilities across Payroll, Employee Lifecycle (ELC), Learning & Development (L&D), Talent Acquisition (TA), and global HR processes. As part of a phased transformation journey, we are supporting the transition of selected activities across the organization. Our objective is to build a centralized hub that delivers efficient, consistent, and virtual HR services on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Support the People Services ELC Manager in transition activities with regional teams and stakeholders.
• Work closely with HR Centers of Excellence to ensure process alignment and clarity of requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate HR policies throughout transition and steady‑state operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements by streamlining workflows and removing redundancies.
• Support UAT execution (test cases, evidence capture, defect logging and retesting) and contribute to knowledge documentation updates post go‑live.

Leadership Management

• Provide informal leadership by mentoring/buddying specialists, sharing knowledge, and supporting onboarding/training activities.
• Act as a go‑to for complex cases and provide guidance aligned to SOPs and process documentation.
• Deliver coaching and “case clinics” for complex scenarios, support buddying/mentoring for new joiners.

Operations Management

• Manage end‑to‑end employee lifecycle processes (e.g., onboarding, transfers, promotions, offboarding) and support HR procurement activities (e.g., raising PR/PO) where in scope.
• Drive continuous improvement within the People Services ELC team and collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to enhance core HR processes.
• Support the People Services ELC Manager and/or SME by providing root‑cause analysis insights and implementing agreed intervention actions.
• Ensure all services comply with corporate policies, procedures, and applicable local/regulatory requirements.
• Manage escalations and resolve complex cases where required; maintain strong customer relationships.
• Collaborate effectively with functional partners to enable integrated People Services delivery, including participation in Service Review meetings with countries.
• Support documentation of customer queries and resolution outcomes to strengthen knowledge management.
• Perform peer review/quality checks to reduce errors and improve first‑time‑right outcomes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of HR Operations / Employee Life Cycle (ELC) experience, supporting either APAC (e.g., South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines) or EMEA regions.
• Proficiency in Japanese and/or Korean is preferred to support regional HR operations.
• Strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and a customer‑service mindset.
• Solid understanding of HR best practices, compliance, and continuous improvement methods.
• Proven ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.
• Proficient in HR systems (Oracle/Workday/SuccessFactors/SAP) and ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Intermediate Excel capability (pivot tables, charts) and comfort working with datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex/exception cases with strong judgment and policy interpretation.
