WARISAN TC HOLDINGS BHD is seeking a PDI / Workshop Manager for Commercial Vehicles in Malaysia. You will oversee end-to-end PDI activities to ensure vehicles meet standards and regulatory specs prior to delivery, while establishing and improving PDI SOPs.
Responsibilities include leading PDI teams, coordinating with Sales and Logistics, managing vehicle compound operations, ensuring accurate documentation, and driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the site.
Manage and oversee end-to-end PDI activities for commercial vehicles.
Ensure vehicles meet manufacturer standards, company requirements, and applicable regulatory specifications prior to delivery.
Establish, maintain, and continuously improve PDI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure vehicles are properly prepared and released according to delivery requirements and schedules.
Ensure vehicles successfully pass technical, mechanical, electrical, safety, and cosmetic inspections.
Identify defects, quality issues, and non-conformities and ensure timely corrective actions.
Monitor inspection accuracy and minimise vehicle rework, delays, and repeat defects.
Maintain consistent quality standards throughout the vehicle preparation and delivery process.
Lead, coach, and supervise PDI technicians, inspectors, detailers, and support staff.
Plan manpower requirements and allocate resources effectively according to operational demands.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide appropriate coaching, training, and development.
Promote a high-performance, safety-conscious, and customer-focused working culture.
Coordinate with Sales, Logistics, Warehouse, and Service teams to ensure timely vehicle readiness and delivery.
Oversee vehicle receiving and dispatch activities, including Gate-In and Gate-Out processes.
Manage vehicle storage, movement, parking, and compound utilisation.
Ensure accurate vehicle inventory and stock tracking within the compound.
Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of inspection records, technical reports, warranty documentation, and vehicle readiness status.
Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer guidelines, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Maintain proper documentation and records for audit and management purposes.
Manage and monitor third-party vendors providing vehicle preparation and enhancement services, including accessory installation, tinting, detailing, and other enhancement works.
Monitor vendor performance, service quality, turnaround time, and adherence to agreed standards.
Address vendor-related quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Monitor and analyse operational KPIs covering quality, productivity, efficiency, rework, turnaround time, and delivery performance.
Identify operational gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive process standardisation and cost-effective solutions to improve overall operational performance.
Prepare regular management reports, KPI summaries, and performance dashboards.
Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Conduct periodic safety inspections and audits.
Ensure workshop, PDI, and vehicle compound facilities are properly maintained and fit for operation.
Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in workshop management, PDI, vehicle preparation, after-sales operations, or commercial vehicle operations.
Experience managing commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, or heavy vehicles will be an added advantage.
Proven experience in leading and managing technicians, inspectors, and operational support teams.
Strong understanding of vehicle inspection, diagnostics, repair, quality assurance, and vehicle preparation processes.
Experience in managing vehicle compound, logistics, or delivery operations is an advantage.
Experience in managing external vendors and service providers.
Good knowledge of workplace safety, operational procedures, and compliance requirements.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and operational planning abilities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
Willingness to work in a hands-on and fast-paced operational environment.
