Job summary

ByteDance in Malaysia is seeking a growth-oriented Payroll professional to manage monthly end-to-end payroll activities and ensure compliance with local regulations. You will contribute to payroll process improvements and work with vendors and HR Partners to enhance the employee experience.

The role requires strong numerical skills, cross-cultural communication, and internship experience in a top-tier firm. A fast-paced environment experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
• Strong payroll knowledge and understanding of payroll concepts.
• Excellent cross-cultural communication skills.
• Internship experience with a top-tier accounting firm.
• Strong numerical aptitude; able to handle data; 11 ACCA papers completed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for monthly end-to-end payroll activities such as collating and validating inputs, outputs and statutory reporting.
• Participate in the improvement and implementation of payroll processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Support payroll and benefit processes landing according to new policies or law and regulation changes.
• Provide payroll reporting & analysis and assist with internal and external audits.
• Manage payroll vendors effectively by strictly adhering to the contract and SLA.
• Develop relationships with local authorities, not limited to Social Security, Tax, etc.
• Partner and work collaboratively with HR Business Partners and the HR Operations team to elevate employee experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in payroll and a solid understanding of fundamental payroll concepts are required;
• Strong understanding of and hands-on experience in cross-cultural communication;
• Prior internship experience with a top-tier accounting firm is required;
• Strong numerical aptitude and comfort working with data; completion of at least 11 ACCA papers is required;
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

Preferred Qualification

• Candidates with overseas work experience preferred;
• Willingness to work shifts is preferred.
