Job summary

ByteDance Malaysia is seeking a Payroll Operations professional to manage monthly APAC payroll activities end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The role requires collaboration with finance, HR, and vendors to uphold data integrity and process excellence.

You will drive payroll process improvements, support policy changes, and assist internal/external audits while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships in a fast-growing tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above; 3 years of in-house payroll experience in APAC is preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of payroll and tax for APAC regions.
• Proven track record in payroll verification and compliance audits.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly end-to-end payroll activities for APAC markets.
• Improve payroll processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
• Support payroll and benefits changes due to new policies or laws.
• Provide payroll reporting and assist with audits.
• Manage payroll vendors according to contracts and SLAs.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for monthly end-to-end payroll activities such as collating and validating inputs, outputs, and statutory reporting in APAC market;
2. Participate in the improvement and implementation of payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy;
3. Support payroll and benefits processes in accordance with new policies or changes in laws and regulations;
4. Provide payroll reporting and analysis to the finance team and assist with internal and external audits;
5. Manage payroll vendors effectively by strictly adhering to contracts and service level agreements (SLAs);
6. Develop relationships with authorities, including social security, tax and others;
7. Partner and work collaboratively with HR business partners and the HR operations team to enhance the employee experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree or above, 3 years of experience in in-house payroll operation;
2. Hands‑on, strong functional knowledge of payroll and tax knowledge of APAC region;
3. Proven track record in providing a high standard of payroll verification and checking skills;
4. Experience in legal and compliance audits in payroll, such as income taxes, statutory social securities;
5. Strong influence and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Vendor management and project management skills;
2. Experience in payroll system implementation;
3. Highly proficient and excellent communication skills.
