Job summary

FERROTEC MANUFACTURING MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking an Outsourcing Buyer to drive supplier partnerships for metal machining projects. You will identify potential suppliers, manage AVL, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries while maintaining quality.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years in outsourcing, with ERP/MRP experience (SAP a plus) and strong English communication. Hybrid or on-site in Malaysia options apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years in outsourcing role, preferably in Metal Machining.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in MRP / ERP system. SAP will be an advantage.
• Extensive knowledge of outsourcing activities, specifically for metal machining with a wide range of network.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast paced and changing environment.
• Good communication skills in English and added advantage for those who able to comprehend in Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Constant exploration of the market to identify potential partners for development and outsourcing program.
• Participate in benchmarking exercise to evaluate industry standards, new supplier selection and supplier site certification program.
• Lead outsources management strategy development and implementation.
• Lead supplier qualification and assessment to qualify supplier to be part of approved vendor list (AVL).
• Maintain close liaison with suppliers on their production capacities, readiness and material supply.
• Provide input for outsourcing activities and responsible for maintaining contract documentation and management.
• Responsible for the assigned outsource packages management for budget and cost including negotiating any disputes for the best interest of the Company in accordance with the contracts provision.
• Review standard subcontracts to ensure compliance with the contracting policy before execution.
• Preparation of Project specific flow-downs from the project's prime contract.

Job description

The Outsourcing Buyers’s primary function is to build an extensive network of outsourcing activities and processes while ensuring timely deliverables at an affordable level while maintaining quality build. This position requires daily interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive deliveries on time at competitive cost structures while maintaining a healthy service level.

This position will require a strong knowledge of the machining process and an extensive pool of suppliers capable of meeting the metal machining requirement of FTMM within a short turnaround time. The Outsourcing Buyer source and identify potential suppliers to perform outsourcing activities and hold the sub-tier supplier to retain the highest standard in terms of deliverables, quality and cost efficiency.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

General Duties

REQUIREMENTS / SKILLSET:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
