Job summary

FERROTEC MANUFACTURING MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain 3-axis CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to read GD&T, and proficiency in G-code programming. You will work with engineering and quality teams to ensure parts meet tolerances and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in machining, precision engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2–3 years hands-on experience in 3-axis CNC machining.
• Strong understanding of G-code programming and CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T symbols.
• Experience with high-precision component machining.
• Proficient in using measuring tools and inspection equipment.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime if required.
• Familiarity with CAM software is advantageous.

Job description

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision components as per engineering drawings and specifications. The role requires high attention to detail, understanding of complex machining processes, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture complex components.

Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Load raw materials, measure and align workpieces, and select proper tooling.

Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances.

Perform basic programming and editing of G-code when required.

Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).

Maintain machine cleanliness and conduct basic preventive maintenance.

Record production data, machine settings, and part dimensions.

Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve machining issues.

Follow company safety policies and standard operating procedures at all times.

This is a fixed-term contract employment for 6 months. If the contract is successfully completed and both sides are satisfied, there have high chances to be converted as permanent employees.

Requirements:

Diploma/Certificate in Machining, Precision Engineering, or related technical field.
