Job summary

CHEE WAH CORPORATION BERHAD seeks a Safety & Health Officer with at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Job description

Candidate must possess at least a Certificate or Diploma in Safety & Health, Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) or equivalent.

Possess a pleasant disposition with good interpersonal, leadership and analytical skills and proven ability to interact and deal effectively with all levels of Management & staff.

Able to work independently and work closely with Heads of Department.

At least 3 years of working experience in manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities :

To develop and implement safe system at workplace and compliance with the safety and health rules and regulations.

To advise the Management or any HOD on the measures to be taken in the interests of the safety and health of the employee in the work place.

To carry out Safety Inspection and Safety Audit in accordance to schedule and monitor the corrective and preventive action taken and its effectiveness.

To inspect the place of work to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, schedule waste, substance, appliance or process or any description of manual labour used in the place of work, is of such nature liable to cause bodily injury to any person working in the place of work.

To investigate any accident, near miss accident, and dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning, occupational disease which has happened in the place of work.

To ensure compliance with DOE regulations and environmental law.

To assist any officers (government or local council officer) in carrying out any inspection in the work place under the Act or any regulations made under the Act so that any matters arising can be resolve.

To collect, analyse and maintain statistics on any accident, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning and occupational disease which have occurred at the place of work.

To collect, analyse and maintain statistics on schedule waste statistic on daily basis in order to comply with DOE regulations.

To carry out any lawful instructions made by the Management or any HOD on any matters pertaining to safety and health of the work place.

To conduct workplace Safety and Health program and training to the employees.

To become the Secretary to the Safety and Health (OSH) Committee and Environmental Monitoring Committee (ERCMC & EPMC) and submit monthly Safety and Health report to the Management.
