Job summary

United G.I. Products Sdn Bhd seeks a dedicated QMS & OSH coordinator to manage ISO 9001 QMS, ensure factory safety compliance, and oversee operational compliance across the plant in Kuching.

The role requires a Diploma/Bachelor in Engineering or related fields, with 1–2 years in manufacturing. OSH-C certification and ISO knowledge are advantageous; English and Bahasa Melayu are essential, Mandarin a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering(Mechanical/Manufacturing), Quality Management, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), or related discipline.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; heavy industry preferred.
• OSH-C certification and ISO knowledge advantageous.
• Thorough with high attention to detail in documentation, filing and reporting.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Melayu; Mandarin an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• ISO QMS Management: document control, master documentation upkeep and SOPs.
• Audit Leadership: plan, schedule and execute internal QMS audits across factory blocks.
• CAPA: track NCR closures with root-cause analysis to prevent repeats.
• DOSH Compliance & Factory Safety: enforce DOSH guidelines and manage Safety Committee records.
• Risk Register & PPE: maintain HIRARC logs and enforce PPE on the factory floor.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Job Scope: Manage the core framework of the company's Quality Management System (ISO 9001 QMS), enforce factory safety compliance as the OSH Coordinator (DOSH/JKKP), and oversee general operational compliance.

Job Requirements:

Possess at least Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering(Mechanical/Manufacturing), Quality Management, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), or a related discipline.

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (prior experience in heavy industry like steel, iron, wire fabrication is highly preferred). Fresh graduates with comprehensive internship experience in QHSE will be considered.

Possessing a valid OSH Coordinator (OSH-C) certification recognized by DOSH (JKKP) & basic knowledge of ISO 9001 standards are advantageous.

Thorough with high attention to detail in documentation, filing, and reporting.

Proficient in spoken and written English and Bahasa Melayu, ability to speak Mandarin is an added advantage.

Key Job Scopes:

• A. ISO QMS Management (Quality)
• System Control & Document Upkeep: Manage the official master documentation list, ensuring all department heads update their SOPs, workflows, and forms in accordance with ISO 9001.
• Audit Leadership: Plan, schedule, and execute regular internal QMS audits across all factory blocks (The company will sponsor the ISO Internal Auditor training).
• Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA): Track the closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), ensuring that root-cause analysis is conducted by production supervisors to prevent reoccurring system failures.
• B. DOSH Compliance & Factory Safety (OSH Coordinator)
• Regulatory Oversight: Enforce compliance with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH/JKKP) guidelines under the OSHA 1994 (Amendment 2022).
• Safety Committee Management: Serve as the permanent secretary for the Safety & Health Committee—scheduling regular meetings, preparing compliance documentation, and lodging official records with DOSH.
• Risk Register (HIRARC): Maintain and update the factory's HIRARC logbook, specifically auditing safety rules around heavy steel slitting lines, roll-forming machines, and overhead cranes.
• PPE Enforcement: Conduct daily safety walks on the factory floor to enforce heavy-manufacturing PPE compliance among both local and foreign workers.
• C. To undertake other responsibilities and duties assign by superior from time to time.
