Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a senior engineer to design, evaluate and optimize utility systems across water, steam, cooling, air, and power networks. You will drive efficiency, reliability and environmental compliance in collaboration with production and maintenance teams.

The role requires a strong background in wastewater treatment and IETS, with a focus on process design, data analysis and asset management. Malaysian regulations and safety standards apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industrial experience; OR Diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline with a minimum of 15 years of relevant industrial experience.
• CePIETSO-BP and CePIETSO-PCP certification will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems including steam, water, cooling towers, compressed air, and power distribution.
• Strong understanding of industrial wastewater treatment processes and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience in process design, optimization, troubleshooting, and system improvement projects.
• Familiarity with Malaysian environmental regulations, industrial utility standards, and wastewater discharge requirements.
• Knowledge of reliability engineering, preventive maintenance, and asset management principles.
• Proficiency in engineering software, process monitoring systems, and data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and optimize utility systems including water supply, steam generation, cooling towers, compressed air, and power distribution systems.
• Develop engineering solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of utility operations.
• Conduct technical assessments of existing utility systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee the operation and performance of Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems (IETS), including primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes.
• Monitor wastewater treatment performance and effluent quality to ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
• Implement process improvements to enhance treatment efficiency and environmental performance.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for utility and IETS assets.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, EHS, and project teams to integrate utility systems with manufacturing operations.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to operations, production, and maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and optimize utility systems including water supply, steam generation, cooling towers, compressed air, and power distribution systems

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industrial experience; OR Diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline with a minimum of 15 years of relevant industrial experience
• Have certified CePIETSO-BP and CePIETSO-PCP will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems, including steam, water, cooling towers, compressed air, and power distribution
