ACCORD INNOVATIONS SDN. BHD. is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle Database environments in line with standards and best practices.
You will handle routine admin tasks, monitor performance, manage users, and support backup/recovery in an enterprise banking setting. Responsibilities include patching/upgrades under guidance, security hardening, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
This role involves assisting in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle Database environments in accordance with established standards and best practices, with responsibility for routine database administration activities and support for enterprise banking operations.
Key responsibilities
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle Database environments in accordance with established standards and best practices
Perform routine database administration activities, including user/access management, database monitoring, and configuration changes
Assist with Oracle database patching and upgrades under established procedures and supervision
Monitor database health, performance, storage capacity, and resource utilization
Assist in identifying and troubleshooting database errors, performance issues, and incidents, with appropriate escalation where required
Perform basic database performance monitoring and analysis to identify potential issues before they impact system availability
Support Oracle backup and recovery activities to ensure data can be restored in the event of system failure or disaster
Assist with database security activities, including access review, privilege management, and database hardening
Work closely with infrastructure, application, security, and other technical teams to resolve database-related incidents and service requests
Participate in 24×7 on-call DBA support on a rotational basis to respond to production incidents and anomalies
About you
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Software/Systems Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics, or a related field
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in database administration or database support, with hands‑on exposure to Oracle databases
Basic understanding of Oracle Database administration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, and performance monitoring
Familiarity with database operating system environments such as Linux/Unix and Windows
Knowledge of database security, access control, and hardening practices
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work in an enterprise banking environment
Willingness to participate in 24×7 on-call support on a rotational basis
Good understanding of SQL and ability to troubleshoot basic queries
Basic operating system administration and troubleshooting skills in Linux/Unix
ITIL V3/V4 Foundation Certification is an added advantage
