Job summary

Agensi Pekerjaan BGC Group (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Cloud DBA to support Oracle ERP, Oracle Database, and OCI in enterprise production environments. You will manage OCI-based databases, ensure high availability, and lead upgrades, patching, and performance improvements across ERP and Cloud environments.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in Oracle ERP Apps DBA, OCI, and database performance tuning, with at least 8 years in ERP/Apps DBA roles and 5+

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Oracle ERP / Oracle Apps DBA roles.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Cloud environments.
• Strong experience supporting Oracle ERP / Oracle E-Business Suite environments.
• Hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, cloning, patching, and upgrades.
• Experience participating in at least two Oracle ERP upgrade cycles, including cutover planning and downtime reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support Oracle ERP and Oracle Cloud database environments to ensure high availability, reliability, security, and performance.
• Administer and maintain OCI environments, including database, compute, storage, networking, security, and related cloud services.
• Perform day-to-day Oracle DBA activities including database maintenance, monitoring, configuration, tablespace and storage management, backup, recovery, cloning, patching, and upgrades.
• Monitor database and system performance, identify bottlenecks, perform root-cause analysis, and implement performance improvements.
• Perform SQL performance analysis, SQL profiling, database tuning, memory and I/O monitoring, and database parameter optimization.
• Ensure database resources, storage, and infrastructure are appropriately sized to support current and future business requirements.
• Conduct regular database and system health checks and provide recommendations to improve performance, stability, security, and capacity.
• Manage Oracle ERP application architecture and infrastructure components, including Concurrent Managers, Workflow, application tiers, and database tiers.
• Execute Oracle ERP and OCI environment cloning/refresh activities for development, testing, UAT, and production environments.
• Support Oracle ERP application patching, maintenance, quarterly release activities, and database version upgrades.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle Cloud DBA with strong expertise in Oracle ERP, Oracle Database, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to support and maintain highly available enterprise production environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for database administration, OCI platform management, performance tuning, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, patching, cloning, upgrades, security, and technical support across Oracle ERP and Cloud environments. This role requires strong hands-on experience in Oracle ERP Apps DBA, OCI architecture, database performance, upgrade and migration projects, as well as the ability to work closely with infrastructure, security, application, development, and business teams across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

About you

8+ years of experience in Oracle ERP / Oracle Apps DBA roles.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Cloud environments.

Strong experience supporting Oracle ERP / Oracle E-Business Suite environments.

Hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, cloning, patching, and upgrades.

Experience participating in at least two Oracle ERP upgrade cycles, including cutover planning and downtime reduction initiatives.

Strong understanding of OCI architecture, including compute, storage, networking, database, security, and integration components.

Hands-on experience with Concurrent Managers, Oracle Workflow, application tier and database tier architecture.

Strong SQL knowledge and experience with SQL profiling and database performance tuning.
