Job summary

Voith Malaysia seeks an experienced Operational Excellence leader to drive the plant's OPEX roadmap in Ipoh, leading lean programs and cross-functional improvement initiatives to boost productivity and quality.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering or science, at least 5 years in manufacturing, and strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and ERP tools; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Lean Six Sigma and statistical problem-solving tools.
• Experience in Kaizen, TPM, SMED, VSM, and productivity improvement projects.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills with result driven mindset.
• Good leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and related new software tools (e.g. PowerAutomate, Pyramid BI) and knowledge in ERP system required.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and implement the plant's OPEX roadmap aligned with business goals.
• Lead Manufacturing, TPM, SMED, VSM, 5S, Kaizen, and other improvement programs.
• Drive productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost improvement initiatives.

Process Management & Digitalization

• Improve and standardize manufacturing processes, ensuring processes are stable, capable, and meet customer requirements.

• Support capacity planning and business continuity programs.

Strategic Projects

• Identify and prioritize strategic improvement opportunities.
• Support manufacturing strategy and long-term plant development plans.
• Lead major transformation and improvement projects.

Financial & Business Performance

• Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, cost, quality, and efficiency.
• Develop business cases and investment justifications.
• Track and report savings and project benefits.

People Development

• Build Operational Excellence capabilities across the organization.
• Coach and train managers, supervisors, and engineers on improvement methodologies.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Other Responsibilities

• Support company and Voith Group initiatives.
• Represent the company in meetings, audits, workshops, and benchmarking activities.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Requirements
