Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily production and project operations near Rawang/Puncak Alam in Malaysia. You will coordinate with procurement, inventory, sales and engineering teams to meet schedules and budgets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and at least 3 years of leadership experience in industrial settings. Travel to sites and overseas assignments may be required, with emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering relevant to industrial equipment, fabrication or environmental treatment systems.
• At least 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience in engineering, fabrication or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of APCS and IETS is a plus.
• Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems.
• Willingness to travel to project sites, including overseas.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily production and project operations, coordinating with procurement, inventory, sales, and engineering teams.

Plan and allocate manpower, materials, equipment, and resources to meet production schedules and project deadlines.

Monitor and report to management on production and project status, including progress, timelines, costs, and outstanding issues.

Lead and manage engineers, supervisors, and operational teams, ensuring clear responsibilities, accountability and performance standards.

Apply strong problem-solving skills to address operational issues and ensure smooth production and project execution.

Monitor operational costs, material usage, productivity, and quality to minimise wastage and improve efficiency.

Travel to project sites to monitor progress and coordinate site activities.

Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements, quality standards, and company procedures.

Establish and monitor operational KPIs and implement continuous improvements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline relevant to industrial equipment, fabrication or environmental treatment systems.

At least 3 years of experience leading and managing operational teams within an engineering, fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of Air Pollution Control Systems (APCS) and Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems (IETS) is an added advantage.

Strong leadership, planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Able to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.

Able to interpret engineering drawings and understand production and project workflows.

Strong reporting and analytical skills.

Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems.

Willing and able to travel to project sites, including outstation/overseas assignments when required.
