Job summary

Elsa Talent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. seeks an Operation Engineer for the Pengerang, Johor site to plan daily operations, monitor performance and drive safe, reliable production in an oil & gas setting.

You will support quality, HSE programs and equipment care, while coordinating maintenance checks and basic services. Knowledge of OER/POMS and hands-on problem solving are essential to the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of plant operations experience in oil & gas or petrochemical.
• Hands-on experience analysing plant performance and improving processes.
• Familiar with mechanical and instrumentation systems and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of plant operation management systems (OER, POMS).

Responsibilities

• Plan daily operations and track plant performance to stay safe, smooth and on target.
• Support quality management activities and drive reliability improvements.
• Coordinate routine equipment checks and basic care to keep equipment healthy.
• Support HSE programs and help identify and reduce risks.
• Assist with Change Management to assess risks and approvals.
• Contribute to technical training and sharing lessons learned.
• Review customer needs to ensure products and deliveries meet expectations.

Job description

Position : Operation Engineer

Industry : Oil & Gas

Location : Pengerang, Johor

Contract Duration : To Be Confirmed (TBC)

Scope of Works:

• Daily planning and performance: Help plan daily operations and track how the plant is performing, so work stays safe, smooth and on target.
• Quality and reliability: Support quality management activities and look for ways to make the plant and its equipment work better.
• Equipment care: Coordinate routine equipment checks and basic care (BEC and BOC) so machines stay in good working condition.
• Health, safety and environment (HSE): Support safety and environmental programs, and help find and reduce risks.
• Management of Change (MOC): Help make sure any change in the plant is properly assessed for risks and approved before it is carried out.
• Training and sharing: Help with technical training, building skills, and sharing lessons learned from past experiences.
• Customer support: Review what customers need so products and deliveries meet their expectations.

Requirement(s):

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical, Industrial or any other engineering discipline).
• At least 5 years of plant operations experience in oil & gas or petrochemical
• Hands-on experience analysing plant performance, improving processes, and assessing equipment reliability
• Good knowledge of plant operation management systems (e.g., OER, POMS)
• Familiar with mechanical and instrumentation systems
• Skilled in root cause analysis, production planning, and closing gaps in performance
