Job summary

Petron Malaysia is seeking an Operations Coordinator to support data processing, validation, reconciliation, and reporting across operational and financial domains. The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to controls, and ongoing process improvement.

The successful candidate will maintain databases and templates, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to automation initiatives to streamline workflows while supporting month-end close and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems or related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookup functions, PivotTables, and handling large datasets.
• Experience with data transformation tools such as Power Query is a plus.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with reconciliations and variance analysis.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in operational, financial, and transactional data.
• Familiarity with ERP, finance or reporting systems, billing, reconciliation, accruals, and processing is advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with high-volume data.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform data extraction, validation, reconciliation, and consolidation to ensure data accuracy.
• Analyze data from multiple sources to identify discrepancies and support resolution.
• Maintain working files, databases, trackers, and calculation templates.
• Prepare and support processing of financial transactions, adjustments, accruals, and related documents.
• Verify transactions and perform post-processing checks for accurate system recording.
• Support month-end activities including reconciliations and variance investigations.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to validate information and obtain approvals.
• Maintain documentation, records, and audit trails per controls.
• Contribute to improving calculation tools, workflows, and reporting processes.
• Prepare periodic operational, management, and regulatory reports with data analysis.
