Job summary

FOZ One Sdn Bhd. is seeking a Tooling Supervisor in Senai, Johor to lead the production tool team, maintain tools, molds and dies, and ensure readiness to meet production schedules.

The role balances hands-on technical work with administrative oversight, focusing on safety, efficiency, and team development in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum SPM/STPM or a Professional Certificate/SKM in Mechanical or Precision Engineering.
• Experience: Proven hands-on experience in tooling and mold repair within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency: Grinding, Milling, EDM, and Laser Welding.
• Computer: Basic Excel/Word for reporting and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Plan and assign daily tasks to Tooling Technicians, prioritizing urgent repairs to avoid production disruption.
• Coordinate end-to-end mold maintenance and repairs, including external vendors for off-site services.
• Oversee commissioning and servicing of new tooling to meet quality and design specs before mass production.
• Monitor daily mold repairs to ensure tooling returns to production floor on time.
• Maintain inventory of tooling spare parts to prevent long lead times during breakdowns.
• Conduct regular training sessions for technicians in mold repair and precision machining.
• Manage technician rosters, overtime, and shifts to align with production demands.
• Enforce 5S standards in the tool room for a clean, organized, efficient workspace.

About the Role

The Tooling Supervisor is responsible for leading the production tool team to ensure all production tools, molds, and dies are maintained, repaired, and ready to meet the production planning schedule. This role balances technical hands-on expertise with administrative oversight, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and assign daily tasks to Tooling Technicians, prioritizing urgent repairs to ensure zero disruption to production schedules.

Manage the end-to-end schedule for mold maintenance and repairs, including coordinating with external vendors for specialized off-site services.

Oversee the commissioning and servicing of new tooling to ensure they meet quality and design specifications before entering mass production.

Monitor and follow up on daily mold repairs to ensure all tooling is returned to the production floor on time.

Maintain an optimal inventory of critical tooling spare parts to prevent extended lead times during breakdowns.

Conduct regular training sessions for technicians to enhance their skills in advanced mold repair, maintenance techniques, and precision machining.

Manage technician duty rosters, overtime, and shift priorities to align with fluctuating production demands.

Enforce strict 5S standards within the tool room to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient working environment.

Qualifications
